3D Forest modelisation in MLS point cloud
Arbor is a production-grade C++ library for large-scale processing of forest mobile laser scanning data, with an R package API. It introduces a new generation of algorithms for tree segmentation and modeling, enabling the processing of hectares of data within minutes and significantly advancing forest point-cloud analysis.
In less than 10 minutes, on a laptop, Arbor turns 2500 m² of raw forest point cloud into a 3D model to produce a highly detailed inventory.

Target users
Arbor is built for practitioners who need production-grade results at operational scale. It targets foresters, consultants, and forest inventory professionals who need to turn raw MLS point clouds into enhanced forest inventories: individual tree metrics, volume, biomass, and carbon stock estimates.

Features
Arbor runs the full pipeline, from raw mobile laser scans to individual tree volume, biomass, and structure metrics, including ground classification, segmentation, and QSM reconstruction. It's fast, processing a quarter-hectare in under 10 minutes on a standard laptop, and parameterless, delivering consistent results out of the box.
Book
We wrote a comprehensive and free online book about LiDAR data processing with the Arbor package. This guide has been written as both a tutorial and a documentation of the internal pipeline

Pricing
Arbor is free and open source. It costs nothing, and this will never change. We offer services, consulting, and training courses, but our software is free of charge and free to use for any application you see fit. To sustain development, we offer services, but you can also sponsor us.
